Panchase

Panchase is actually the name of a hill that is located in the Pokhara region of Nepal. Panchase lies around 2500 meters above overlooking Fewa Lake and offering splendid views of more than 8000meter mountains Daulagiri, Annapurna & Manaslu.

Panchase is a compound word meaning "five seats of the divine mother". "Panch" means "five", the "as" is from the root word of Asana (the Yoga schools of physical posture) meaning a seat or place and the "e(ee)" represents the female gender. The symbol of five, represents an ancient Yoga system in which a person experiences five levels of existence. Three of these levels are thinking, feeling and sensing with the Above and Below completing this symbol of manifestation. Given the mountains name, the ancient Vedics thought of Panchase as one of the ultimate places of meditation.
